Biography | Lt. Craig D. Lally is a 43-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department. He is currently serving his 12th year as a Board of Director and his 9th year as President of the Los Angeles Police Protective League, which represents approximately 9,000 dedicated and professional sworn members of the Los Angeles Police Department. The League seeks to advance the interests of LAPD officers through legislative and legal advocacy, political action, and education. As President, Lt. Lally works daily with the Los Angeles Police Department, legislative groups, council members, community groups and fellow officers to protect the rights, interests, and welfare of the members of the League. Lt. Lally was born in Cleveland, Ohio and joined the Los Angeles Police Department on March 30, 1981. He worked various patrol assignments for over 25 years as a Police Officer (in the elite Metropolitan Division), Sergeant and Lieutenant. He has received over 200 commendations throughout his career from the Department, the community, and esteemed colleagues. He was elected as a Director to the Los Angeles Police Protective League on January 1, 2012 and elected President on January 1, 2015. He also serves on additional Executive Boards, including the Board of the National Association of Police Organizations, the Board of Directors of the Valley Industry and Commerce Association, the Executive Board of the California Coalition of Law Enforcement Association, the Board of The Los Angeles Police Museum and the Board of Directors of the California Police Officers Memorial Foundation. |
