Biography

Vice-President John Covington joined the Memphis Police Department in 2012 and served in uniform patrol until he was elected Chief Steward of the Memphis Police Association in 2019. In November 2023, Covington was elected to the office of Vice-President. One of the signature achievements he was involved in and is most proud of is his work on the Public Safety Referendum signature effort and electoral campaign that restored pension and healthcare benefits to officers.
