| Biography | President Matt Cunningham joined the Memphis Police Department in 1999, serving in uniform patrol until his promotion to Sergeant in 2016. Following his predecessor’s retirement, Cunningham was appointed Secretary-Treasurer of the Memphis Police Association. He later advanced to Vice President and was elected President in November 2023. One of the signature achievements he was involved in and is most proud of is his work on the Public Safety Referendum signature effort and electoral campaign that restored pension and healthcare benefits to officers. |
